Mai Sugawara
I have been fortunate to join DENSO in 2024. My life had little connection with either Aichi or the automotive industry, but I was drawn to the DENSO DESIGN Departmentʼs approach of "redefining the abstract" and "broadening the scope of the concrete." After many twists and turns, I found myself here, something I never anticipated, and each dayʼs scenery feels fresh and new.
During my student days, I tried to vent complaints into the toilet, constantly questioned what "normal" is, made friends with fungi, captured the process of home life, and envisioned a far-fetched future. My motivation stems from a desire to increase the options for pride.
I hope that design, as it circulates, becomes nourishing and beneficial. I will continue to think carefully, never forgetting to nourish myself as well. For me, nourishment comes from my futon and taking walks.
