Schedule of a Day in My Second Year at the Company

I am Ogawa, currently in my second year at the company.
I work from home most of the week (going to the office on average once or twice a week).
Here is a typical day in my life.

7:15-8:00: Waking Up and Getting Ready

Since half of my university life consisted of remote classes, I naturally adapted to telework. Without the need for commuting, I can do various tasks like household chores in the morning, but sometimes I end up staying home all day. Recently, Iʼve been consciously taking morning walks to avoid this. On days when I donʼt leave the house at all, my step count can be as low as 1,500 steps.

9:00-9:30: Start of Work

If there are no meetings in the morning, I usually start around this time.
First, I engage in tasks like research. Depending on the project, I gather information not only in the fields of mobility and design but also in technology, art, healthcare, and more. I value real experiences, so I attend exhibitions whenever possible, in addition to gathering online information.

10:00: Creating Materials/Design Work

I usually work alone at home. Through Teams, I can see design progress and meeting materials from projects Iʼm not involved in, shared by senior colleagues, which helps me learn various working styles. However, while teleworking allows for focused individual progress, it can also lead to overthinking and losing track of time. To mitigate this, I recently bought a timer and prioritize early communication with senior colleagues to avoid getting stuck.

13:00: Meetings

Lately, Iʼve had more opportunities to directly discuss with the requesting departments, supported by senior colleagues. Iʼm doing more practical work than I imagined for my second year, which is fulfilling. However, I often struggle to fully grasp othersʼ thoughts or convey my proposals effectively, causing a lot of ups and downs in my emotions.

14:00: Design Work

In my first year, I often worked on graphic design tasks such as creating logos for internal systems and posters. To broaden my range of expression, I am now challenging myself with animation and video production. Being assigned to projects aligned with my interests and goals turns work into a growth opportunity. Initially, I wasnʼt clear about my aspirations, but through my work, I aim to further enhance my graphic design skills and eventually become a project leader capable of delivering appropriate outputs with a broad perspective.

18:30: End of Work

I usually finish around this time, but if thereʼs unfinished work, I take a break for dinner to refresh before continuing.
